Beat LA!

// October 29th, 2009 // No Comments » // General

Last night’s Sharks game was awesome. It was one of the closest games I’ve seen in a long time. The Sharks and Kings were neck and neck in shots on goal for most of the game (after the Sharks caught up after a flat start). Nabby kept them in it for the whole thing and Jonathan Quick for the Kings played great too. The score was 1-1 at the end of the OT and it went to the shootout where after 5 rounds only Dany Heatley had scored for the Sharks and Michal Handzus for the Kings. Then in the 6th round of the shootout Ryane Clowe, who has struggled all season, scores with a nice backhand followed by Nabokov shutting the door on Jarret Stoll.

The best part of the night though? It was definitely Andrew cracking up our whole section with his squeaky little “Beat LA” chant.

Road Trip to Tampa – Sharks v. Lightning

The day before the Learning 2008 conference I attended in Orlando, I actually flew into Tampa with my coworker John Matuk to see the Sharks play the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It was a great game with the Sharks winning 3-0. It was cool to see the Tampa fans welcome back Dan Boyle. It also was plain to see that the Tank is a much better hockey venue and San Jose has much better and louder fans!

Sharks 5, Coyotes 0

dsc00935.JPGTonight Christine and I took Andrew to his first Sharks game and boy what a game it was. The Sharks beat the Phoenix Coyotes 5-0. Despite the score, it was a close game through the first two periods. Andrew loved the game. He didn’t really know what was going on of course, but the crowd noise didn’t seem to bother him a bit. He even took a little snooze during the second period.

It was super fun to finally get the whole family to a game. We weren’t too certain how Andrew would do, but he passed with flying colors. It made the entire experience all the better with such a decisive win for the Sharks. (more…)
